A pull stud, also known as a retention knob, is a cylindrical metal shaft used in CNC machines. Its primary purpose is to securely connect the toolholder to the spindle. By linking the machine drawbar and the toolholder, pull studs ensure precise positioning and safe locking during machining operations. Different types of pull studs are available, such as BT MAS, DIN69871, R8 (Bridgeport), MAZAK, and ISO pull studs. These variations may differ in angle, length, through coolant type, and whether they come with or without O-ring seals
